Indeed, the film reportedly has not one but 'two' geenies, While the heroic-appearing one is played by Bachchan, the anti-hero geenie is played by Sanjay Dutt, who used to be 'good' before he turned 'bad'. The film also has plenty of action and the highlight of the film will be the action scenes and the faceoff in the climax between the good, Amitabh Bachchan; and the good-turned-bad Sanjay Dutt. Who is playing the villain coming after and looking to kill Aladin, who Amitabh Bachchan's character is sworn to protect. In that way the movie is more similar to 'grown up' comic book fantasies in Hollywood like Spiderman, Batman Begins and to an extent, Terminator which saw two Terminators, each endowed with ultra-normal advantages, in a faceoff over fate of a boy, whom one is sworn to kill, the other sworn to protect. Aladin showcases Ritesh Deshmukh as the college going youngster 'Aladin' and pageant winner Jasmin Fernandez as Jasmine. It is being directed by Sujoy Ghosh who had debuted with the hit Jhankaar Beats several years back. Along with the Ajay Devgan, Salman Khan starrer London Dreams, Aladin releases all over India on October 30th.
That Eros International's Aladin is an adaptation of the Arabian Nights saga of the same name is well known by now. But an as yet lesser known aspect of the film, apart from its technical special effects, is said to be the Mahanayak vs the Khalnayak casting dynamic featuring faceoff of two famed action heroes of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt in action, as two 'superheroes' at odds over how to go about using advantage of their respective power, leading one to turn from superhero to supervillain.
