In a real news more akin to a gangster movie plot, the advocate of Pakistan backed gangster/terrorist Chota Shakeel's aide Rashid Malbari, who threatened to take out BJP activist Varun Gandhi, was himself taken out yesterday preemptively.
The advocate of the Shakeel aide, Naushad Qasim, was gunned down in Southern Karnatak while he was returning from a court.
Don Ravi Pujari, a former associate of Chota Rajan network, has taken responsibility: "My boys did it. I had warned him earlier not to take any case related to the D company. By doing this I am serving the nation."
Pujari's gang had earlier fired at a Bollywood director's office who they claimed was also once sympathetic to Pakistani activists. Indian tv channels owners might be vulnerable also.
The news is more relevant as while Pakistani ISI based terrorists like Chota Shakeel and Dawood Ibrahim have been said to be targetting the likes of Varun Gandhi of UP, the annointed 'Hindu' Dons like Chota Rajan and Narayan Pandey and Ravi Pujari are said to be going after to strike their own targets deemed to be supporting or sympathizers of Islamic Terrorists.
And apparently the Amitabh Bachchan-linked Samajwadi Party is providing its own share of targets. This was confirmed by Bachchans' close associate Amar Singh himself as he reported of the threats on his life by the men of Chota Rajan few days ago.
"I was threatened by a person who is associated with Chhota Rajan gang warning not to support and campaign for [SP activist Abu] Azmi. The caller said Nana sent a message asking not to campaign for Azmi. When I asked who was Nana, he replied Nana was Chhota Rajan," Mr. Singh told reporters recently.
Singh also requested security for himself, Abu Azmi and actor Sanjay Dutt.
Abu Azmi has been linked to Dawood Ibrahim in the past though he has denied the charges, while Sanjay Dutt was convicted in the 1993 bombings in Bombay (though not on directly terror charges), on account of which he was denied permission for the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, and still has imprisonment charge pending. The Samajwadi Party however also has a trackrecord in this in that in the past it's been linked to supporting institution like SIMI (Students Islamic Movement of India), a banned terror organization by both United States as well as India.
Another interesting intertext is that with the increasing linkups being discovered between Pakistan's ISI and the likes of Dawood Ibrahim/Shakeel and the former Abu Salem network, in recent years the Indian counter-intelligence/RAW are said to be deploying the likes of Narayan Pandey and Chota Rajan and Ravi Pujari, providing some of them limited resources and clandestine information in the same manner as Pakistan's ISI is said to be with Dawood and Shakeel and was formerly with Salem. This in part, it is being speculated, is why Abu Salem was caught and Dons Rajan and Pandey are proving unable to being caught.
The distillation of this theory then is that in the battle between the underworlds of the ISI and underworlds linked to the India's RAW, it would then appear the likes of soft-on-SIMI SP and Bollywood-types are running out of luck and favor with the men of the RAW, or atleast the 'Indian Dons'. And the threat by men of Chota Rajan, and now the successful takedown of Naushad Qasim, would only accentuate the predicament.
