Below are the rare pictures from the sets of arguably the most awaited film of the year, Sarkar Raj. The film continues the saga of the Nagre klan, brought to life by Ram Gopal Varma and Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan in 2005's Sarkar. In 2008's sequel, Sarkar Raj, the transition sees the foreign-educated Shankar Nagre slowly emerge as the new Godfather in India. In Sarkar Raj, Aishwarya Rai enters the world of Sarkar, and chaos develops. How then the Bachchans, ie the Nagres traversed the problems that arose over the course is what the 2008 Ram Gopal Varma film is all about. The film marks the first time Aishwarya will be seen opposite Abhishek Bachchan since last year's super hit: Guru, which was the top grosser at the box office through most of 2007. It is also the first time the actress will be seen onscreen with Amitabh Bachchan since her appearance in 2005's biggest Blockbuster: Bunty&Babli. Since Guru, Aishwarya Rai had releases in Provoked and Ashutosh Gowarikar's Jodhaa Akbar (costarring Hrithik Roshan). Whereas Abhishek Bachchan had only one major release last June: Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (a multistarrer with Bobby Deol, Lara Dutta and Preity Zinta) and an extended special apperances in Rani Mukherjee's Laaga Chunari Mein Daag (along with Kunal Kapoor, Konkana Sen Sharma), and a couple cameos in a movie like Shootout at Lokhandwala (Sanjay Dutt, Vivek Oberoi). Amitabh Bachchan is coming off the commercial success of Bhoothnath, his first box office success since last year's Cheeni Kum costarring Tabu. The focus and main lead of this edition's Sarkar is said to be however on Abhishek Bachchan. The film also stars the Bengali actress Tanisha Mukherjee, who Abhishek Bachchan's character had been committed to before Aishwarya Rai entered the scene. Sarkar I, which had released sandwiched between Shah Rukh Khan's Paheli and the action multistarrer Dus in July 2005, broke the Bombay opening record at the box office anyway. Sarkar Raj is releasing on June 6th and is expected to take a massive opening nationwide also.
